Marie Rose Belanger, 94: World traveler, enjoyed time spent with sisters, children, grands and great-grands

MANCHESTER, NH – Marie Rose B. Belanger, 94, of Manchester,  passed away in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by loving family on Friday, May 11, 2018.

Marie Rose was born in Manchester on February 11, 1924 to Gustave and Laura (Beaudoin) Dusseault. She received her primary education through Ste. Marie Parish in Manchester and attended high school in Canada. When Marie Rose returned to the states, she met Robert A. Belanger. The two were married in 1947 and spent 36 wonderful years together until Robert’s passing in 1983. Though first and foremost a dedicated and caring homemaker, Marie Rose also enjoyed many years of rewarding employment with Bi-Wise Market, Happy House Pizza, and Shaw’s Supermarket.

Marie Rose loved to travel, going on countless trips all across the United States and several other countries. She also enjoyed yearly trips to the beach, weekly picnics, and spending time doing puzzles, going bowling, and playing cards with her sisters. She was a member of the VFW, former member of the Catholic War Veterans, and a member of the Senior Center in Manchester. A woman of great faith, Marie Rose was once a parishioner of St. Edmond Parish as well as parish Of the Transfiguration, and most recently, Ste. Marie Roman Catholic Church.

Marie Rose is survived by her sons, Marcel R. Belanger and wife, Evelyn, of Auburndale, FL, Leo R. Belanger and wife, Laura, of Ocala, FL, Aime R. Belanger of Manchester, NH and Roger R. Belanger and wife, Dawna, of Northwood, NH; daughters, Paula M. Cote and husband, John, of Manchester, NH, Irene M. Dionne and husband, Nelson, of Edgemoor, SC, Alice M. Belanger of Manchester, NH, and Janet M. Methot and husband, Norman, of Manchester, NH; son-in-law, Tim Kilar; brother, Rene Dusseault and wife, Carol, of Concord, NH; sisters, Rita A. Lavalliere of Manchester, NH, Therese Giovanelli of Virginia, Gertrude Lavalliere of Manchester, NH, and Lucille Montminy of Manchester, NH; as well as 18 Grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Robert, Marie Rose was predeceased by her daughter, Joan B. Kilar, her brothers, Ernest, George, Charlie and Louis Dusseault, and her sister, Jeanne Biron.

The family will receive visitors Wednesday, May 16, 2018, 4-8 p.m. at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 250 Coolidge Avenue, in Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at Ste. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Avenue in Manchester with committal following immediately at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
