Maria Dean Curran, 57: Kiwanis volunteer, beloved wife and mom

BEDFORD, NH — Maria Dean Curran, 57, of Bedford, passed away peacefully in her home on November 20, 2018, following a long illness.

Born on June 5, 1961 in Trenton, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Josephine (Cavallaro) Dean. She enjoyed 31 years of marriage with her husband, Bill Curran, and together they raised two children, Erin Claire Curran and William Sean Curran.

Maria was raised and educated in New Jersey. She and Bill, moved to New England in 1990 and have been residents of Bedford for the past 16 years, where Maria served on the Bedford Library Board. She was most recently employed for Anthem Incorporated as a director of marketing for Medicare enrollment. Maria had a kind and generous heart and loved her time spent volunteering as a member of the Manchester Kiwanis, where she helped many children. Most of all, Maria was a loving wife and mother who cherished time spent with her family. Together they enjoyed traveling, day trips to the beach, and collecting sea glass.

Maria leaves behind her husband, Bill Curran; her children, Erin Claire Curran and William Sean Curran; her sister, Cheryl Criscuolo and husband Steve; her beloved dogs, Jackson and Maggie; as well as many extended family members and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Cobb Dean.

A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, November 26 from 4-7 p.m. with a service at 7 p.m., at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester. Family and friends are invited to attend.
