Margie Bournival, 88: West HS pastry chef for 27 years, loved music, dancing, nature, time with grandkids

MANCHESTER, NH — Marjorie “Margie” A. (Lazott) Bournival, 88, of Manchester, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 2, 2018 surrounded by her children and family. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 42 years, Gerald A. Bournival.

Born in Goffstown, she was the daughter of the late Carl W. Lazott and Marguerite H. (Foster) of Manchester. Marjorie was a lifelong resident of Manchester and was employed by the Manchester School District at West High School for 27 years as Assistant Pastry Chef.

She was devoted to her family and loved spending time and playing cards and board games with her children and grandchildren. Feeding the backyard birds, squirrels, and woodchucks as well as any neighborhood cat, gave her great pleasure. Margie also served as a Sunday School teacher for third-graders at St. Raphael’s Church in Manchester. Other pastimes she enjoyed were watching movie musicals, dancing to old-time player-piano music and having fun on her keyboard and ukulele. Also, at the young age of 14 she started her lifelong passion of writing in her daily journals, completing over 50 volumes.

Marjorie is survived by her children, Lynn Green and partner Doug Hayes of Forest City, NC; Judith Green and fiancé John Gueli of Pembroke; and Burton Green Jr. and wife Betsy of Manchester; five grandchildren: Matthew Roy, Holly Holmes, Rebecca Stock, Taihlin Rouse and Emma Green; five great-grandchildren, Cameron Caldwell-Roy, Lilliana and Zoey Holmes and Cohen and Autumn Stock; sister, June McCue of Manchester; two brothers, Raymond Lazott and wife Grace of Pinardville, and James Lazott and wife Hilda of Lunenburg, VT; as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her brothers, Richard and Robert Lazott; and sister, Dorothy Belanger.


ARRANGEMENTS: Visitation will be held in the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the Phaneuf Funeral Home on Friday, September 7, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Committal to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, 765 Brown Ave., Manchester. Friends and relatives welcome.
