CONCORD, N.H. – The Office of the New Hampshire Attorney General and Manchester Police Department announced on Thursday that they will not be pursuing charges related to a March homicide in Manchester.

On March 14, 29-year-old Adrian Welch shot 37-year-old Kevin Denbow during a physical altercation between Denbow and Welch’s friend, Kenneth Ferguson, in Welch’s driveway on Sagamore Street.

According to a press release from the Office of the Attorney General, Denbow stabbed Ferguson with deadly force and Welch came to Ferguson’s aid with a response that was not unreasonable given the circumstances.

Welch claimed self-defense and after investigation, New Hampshire Attorney General Gordon J. MacDonald determined there is insufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Welch did not act in self-defense.
