CONCORD, NH – On Friday July 29, 2016 at approximately 3:54 p.m. the New Hampshire State Police-Troop D Barracks  responded to a motor vehicle collision located on Interstate 93 (southbound, at mile marker 47.2) in the Town of Canterbury, just south of exit 18.

Upon arrival, the at-scene investigation revealed a blue 2010 Toyota RAV4 operated by Brendan P. Olski,  18, of Sherborn, Mass., was traveling southbound on I-93 south of exit 18. Simultaneously a green 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Charles A. Chabot, 72, of Manchester, was also traveling southbound on I-93 ahead of the 2010 Toyota RAV4.

For unknown reasons at this time Olski’s Toyota RAV4 rear-ended the Jeep Grand Cherokee causing it to be redirected into the center median where it struck a cluster of trees.

As a result of this, the passenger of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Irene L. Chabot, 66, of Manchester,  was ejected and suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, while Charles Chabot suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Olski did not suffer any injuries.

Assisting on scene were members of the NH State Police Troop D Barracks, Canterbury Fire & Rescue, EMS Crews, and NH DOT.

At this time the crash investigation is being handled by the State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Unit (C.A.R. Unit). Anyone that may have further information related to this crash is encouraged to please contact Trooper First Class Michael J. Pelletier at (603) 223-8699 or preferably by email at michael.pelletier@dos.nh.gov.
