MANCHESTER, NH — Manchester VA Medical Center (VAMC) announces plans for new Urgent Care hours of operation to ensure enhanced patient safety for every Veteran, every time.

The new Urgent Care operational hours take effect on Friday, August 30, 2019.  Manchester VAMC Urgent Care operational hours will be 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday – Sunday excluding federal holidays.  Ancillary services at the medical center will expand operations to allow for comprehensive care and best outcomes for Veterans.

The plan to modernize Manchester VAMC’s Urgent Care physical structure with a new state-of-the-art building is on-track and construction for the build is pending an award.  A ground breaking will take place in August 2019.

“The change in operational hours supports modernized VA care in New Hampshire,” said Alfred Montoya, Jr., Medical Center Director, Manchester VAMC.  “The new hours come with additional options for Veterans to get the right care, in the right place, at the right time, and allow the medical center to apply resources where they will most positively impact Veterans.”

Prior to seeking care, Veterans are encouraged to learn about their Urgent Care benefits here:   There are many non-VA Urgent Care Centers participating across New Hampshire.  Veterans can find an Urgent Care or Retail location at via this link.

Manchester VAMC does not provide Emergency Care.  Veterans residing in New Hampshire, and who are enrolled with the VA, are eligible for Emergency Care as Manchester VAMC is not a full-service hospital.  Click here for more information on Emergency Care:

Manchester VAMC’s Pharmacy and Radiology will expand their hours to support implementation of Manchester VAMC new Urgent Care operational hours.  Additionally, Manchester VAMC will continue its efforts to further expand partnerships with community providers to best serve Veterans where care is closer to home.
