Manchester & Union: Hotbed of illegal activity leads to several arrests in prostitution sting

5 were arrested on prostitution-related charges; one on drug charges.

Focus of prostitution sting netted six arrests in three hours. One of the arrests was drug-related.


MANCHESTER, NH – Members of the Manchester Police Community Policing Division, Special Enforcement Division and Patrol Division made five prostitution related arrests and a drug arrest June 21 in center city.

The first two arrests occurred at 4:39 p.m. near Manchester and Union streets. A plainclothes officer was standing on the sidewalk when she was approached by two men who were inside a Toyota 4Runner. The men asked her to exchange money for sex, so she told them to pick her up in a designated location near Beech Street. She notified a marked police unit to stop the vehicle.

The two men were identified as Olvin Lazo Miranda, 27 , and Mercedes Delgado, 47,  both of Manchester. The two men were charged with prostitution and released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail. They are set to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on July 26, 2017.

A third arrest occurred at 6 p.m. in the area of Union and Manchester streets. A plainclothes officer

was standing on the sidewalk when a Kia sports utility vehicle pulled up next to her and asked her “how much?” The officer spoke with Walter Loan, 52, of Northfield, and ultimately arrested him for soliciting sex for money after he was stopped by a marked police car. He was charged with prostitution and released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail. He is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on July 26, 2017.

A fourth arrest was made at 6:15 p.m. when an undercover officer was flagged down by Alicia Dubois, 30, of Manchester, on Manchester Street, near Pine Street. The officer stopped his vehicle and engaged in a conversation about exchanging money for sexual favors. Dubois agreed to the exchange of sex for money, so she got into the detectives vehicle. A fully marked police cruiser pulled them over on Merrimack and Lincoln streets, where Dubois was arrested without incident.

Dubois was charged with prostitution and released on $2,000 personal recognizance bail. Dubois is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on July 26, 2017.

The fifth and final prostitution-related arrest of the night took place at 7:45 p.m. on Manchester and Union street. The plainclothes officer spoke with the driver of a Ford Explorer after he stopped his vehicle and motioned for her to speak with him. He was later identified as Wilkins De La Cruz Peralta, 24,  of Manchester, New Hampshire. They agreed on exchanging money for sex, so he was arrested and charged with prostitution.

De La Cruz Peralta was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on July 26, 2017.

One of the undercover officers was working in a plainclothes capacity for the prostitution operation when a male subject offered to sell her heroin. The officer followed him to Monadnock Lane where he met with a second subject identified as Michael Simoneau, 30, of Greenville.

The detective watched the two men as they separated in the alley. Detectives stopped both men and later arrested Simoneau for possession of a controlled drug after they located .5 grams of crystal methamphetamine on him. The other individual was not charged.

Simoneau was also charged with violation of bail and violation of probation/parole. He was scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on June 22, 2017.
