MANCHESTER, N.H. – On Thursday, the Manchester School District received 13,000 reusable water bottles courtesy of Manchester Proud, Beeze Tees, Dartmouth-Hitchcock and People’s United Bank.

The water bottles, which will be given to students across the city, will be paired with new receptacles for water bottles coming soon to the city’s schools in attempt to encourage water drinking without drinking directly from a water fountain that could spread COVID-19.

“This is a pretty impressive thing that Manchester has done for the schools. We’re trying to rally together the best that we can. This is a great way to support the community,” said Tim Pipp, owner of Beeze Tees. “The idea is out there that we need it’s not okay to drink out of water fountains for now and it was great to see kids excited about them.”

was also happy to see the water bottles arrive on Thursday.

“What the school district has done to adapt during COVID-19 has been nothing short of incredible, and I think this was a simple but impactful gesture along those lines to make sure our kids have drinking water every day,” said Manchester Chamber of Commerce President Mike Skelton. “One of the core ways to stay healthy is to stay hydrated. I think in the long term, this will help provide better health for students in the long term.”
