Members of the Manchester Police Department attended the monthly Rimmon Heights Community Group, on the city’s West Side, on August 21, 2014.  Chief David J. Mara and his officers were invited to attend the ice cream social and unbeknownst to most in the crowd, including the Chief and many members of the group, Community Group leader Diane Lavigne had skillfully planned an award presentation.

Lavigne called up the Chief and his officers to present the annual Rimmon Heights Neighborhood Champion Award in front of a crowd of more than 30 attendees.  She specifically thanked Chief Mara and the members of the Community Policing Division for their continued neighborhood support and efforts during the past year.  Members of the Community Policing Division attend monthly crime watch and neighborhood meetings, so if you are interested in starting a new group or wish to schedule an officer for an existing group, please contact Officer Mark Ampuja at 603-792-5431.
