Manchester Police officer injured in crash

MANCHESTER, NH — At approximately 4:11 p.m. on Jan. 26 the Manchester Police Department responded to the intersection of Beech and Harvard streets for a crash involving two vehicles, one of them an on-duty Manchester Police detective.

EMS arrived on scene and transported Officer Aaron Brown, to the Elliot Hospital for treatment of serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The preliminary investigation indicates a Hyundai Sonata, driven by Steven Elliman, 35, of Manchester, collided with a Ford Explorer driven by Brown, while changing lanes. Mr. Elliman was not injured during the crash. However, Officer Brown was briefly trapped inside the SUV. He was rescued and immediately transported to the hospital to seek medical treatment for his injuries. 

The crash remains under investigation by the Manchester Police Traffic Unit Collision Reconstruction and Analysis team.
