NEW YORK, NY – Members of Manchester Police Department attended the Jan. 4 funeral and wake for New York Police Officer Wenjian Liu.
They were among thousands of police officers who traveled from across the country to attend the funeral and pay final respects to Liu, who was shot to death Dec. 20 while on patrol, along with his partner, Officer Rafael Ramos.
According to ABC News, Buddhist monks led the procession, followed by a traditional police ceremony with eulogies led by a chaplain.
Liu, 32, served as a police officer for seven years.
The officers from New Hampshire were provided a courtesy van from Holloway Mercedes-Manchester owner David Cushman for the trip.
