Manchester man drowns in Lake Sunapee

fishgameCONCORD, NH – On Saturday, July 1, 2017, at approximately 3:14 p.m., 911 received a call from a female passenger aboard a pontoon boat who advised that the vessel’s other occupant, an adult male, had jumped into the water and became distressed.  He was last seen in the vicinity of Dunning Point on Lake Sunapee.

Responding agencies arrived in the area and began searching for the victim.  At 8:16 p.m., he was recovered by divers from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Dive Team and was ultimately pronounced deceased.   The victim was identified as Kevin Karolian, 46, of Manchester, NH. The female caller/passenger was identified as Karen Forziati, 44, of Boston, Mass. 

Assisting agencies included New Hampshire Fish and Game, Sunapee Police Department, Sunapee Fire Department, New London Fire Department and the Newbury Fire Department.
