Man with knife charges at officer outside McGarvey’s, 4 arrested

MANCHESTER, NH — Officer Alex Martens observed a physical altercation in front of McGarveys Bar on Elm Street at approximately 1 a.m. on Aug. 25.  A 28 year-old male victim was being assaulted by two other men. Officer Martens was separating the subjects from the victim when  Koury Machado, 29, of Chester, MA., charged at him from behind with a knife.  A bouncer, who works at McGarvey’s, was able to tackle Machado before he was able to reach Officer Martens. Machado ran from the scene and attempted to stab a 30 year old male victim with the knife.

Officer Matthew Nocella located Machado in the area of 15 High St.  Upon seeing Officer Nocella, Machado threw the knife in the bushes nearby. Officer Nocella subsequently placed Machado under arrest. Machado was charged with:  Second-Degree Assault, 2 counts Attempted Second-Degree Assault, Falsifying Physical Evidence, Felon in Possession of a weapon, and a 72-hour by probation/parole.  He is scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on August 27, 2018.

Zed Cordeiro, 27, of Fall River, MA., for Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.  He is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on September 28, 2018.

Alex Stoltman, 21, of Manchester, NH for Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest. He is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on September 28, 2018

John Funk, 21, of Manchester, for Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct, Hindering Apprehension, and Resisting Arrest.  He is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on September 28, 2018.
