Distance between crash at 341 Varney Street and where David Mazurkiewicz was located by police on William Street.

The crash was reported at 9:20 p.m. on Jan. 24 at the Girls Incorporated building, 341 Varney St., after a 2009 GMC was reportedly found resting against a tree in the non-profit’s parking lot. The vehicle appeared to have been traveling east on Mast Road when it drove over the front lawn and struck the front porch, and then the tree.

The vehicle sustained substantial front end damage and also caused damage to the front porch of Girls Incorporated. No one was near the vehicle, so officers spoke to several residents who witnessed a white male exit the vehicle and walk toward Walgreen’s immediately after the crash.

The investigation led officers to 21 William St. where they located and arrested the Mazurkiewicz, 50, of Manchester, the registered driver of the vehicle.

Mazurkiewicz was charged with operating under the influence of liquor; resisting arrest/detention and conduct after an accident. He is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on February 10, 2016.
