Man threatens woman with knife, so she pulls out her machete

MANCHESTER, NH  On Thursday September 14, 2017, at approximately 1:17 a.m., Officer’s Pauley and McGowen had their attention drawn to a male and female arguing on the corner of Hanover and Union streets. As the officers intervened, the male subject, later identified as Eugene Gonzales, 55, of Manchester, tossed a black kitchen knife onto the lawn, while the female held a machete in hand.

The female victim, identified as Pamela Martin, 65, of Manchester, said that she was walking when Gonzales, who was unknown to her, approached her with knife in hand saying that he was going to “meet the devil in hell” and threatened to cut her leg. Martin reported that she carries a machete as protection, which she in turn removed from the carry sheath and held as protection.

Gonzales was charged with felony criminal threatening and felon in possession of a deadly weapon.
