MANCHESTER, NH – A man who was shot in the leg was later arrested on criminal threatening charges.

Manchester Police responded to 144 Lake Ave. on Nov. 30, 2014 at 9:20 p.m. for a “shots fired” call for service. Upon arrival, Officer Derek Feather located the victim of a shooting that had taken place moments before he arrived on scene.

Officer Feather spoke with the victim, Khalid Chaudhry, 50, of Manchester, who told police he was engaged in a verbal confrontation with a male subject. The same male subject allegedly took out a handgun and fired several rounds at Chaudhry. One of the bullets struck him in his leg, causing a non-life threatening injury.

He was transported to Catholic Medical Center and interviewed by police. Ultimately, detectives determined Chaudhry was involved in an earlier domestic dispute, so he was charged with criminal threatening involving a firearm, a felony.

The shooting investigation remains active and it is unknown if the incidents are related, police said. Chaudhry was scheduled to appear in District Court on Dec. 1.
