MANCHESTER, NH– A man traveling down March Avenue saw a hand sticking out of a sewer grate Friday.
Bob Gobin of Derry says he immediately pulled over to check it out and discovered a 19-year-old male stuck underground in the sewer.
Police and rescuers responded and used tools and hoists to remove the grate. Once opened, a ladder was extended down into the sewer and the teen was removed, unharmed. He was transported from the scene.
Police were investigating how the teen became stuck in the first place. We’ll bring you more information as it becomes available.
