MANCHESTER, NH —A city man is accused of sexually molesting two young girls and possessing and taking sexually explicit photographs of children.

A Hillsborough County Superior Court North grand jury indicted Bryan Mathieu, 29, of 460 Manchester St., Apt. 1, on 42 felony counts charging him with three counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault (AFSA), seven charges of a pattern of AFSA, and 16 counts each of possessing and manufacturing child pornography.

The indictments do not indicate whether the two children he allegedly sexually abused were the ones in the pornographic photos.

The children were eight and 10 years old when the alleged assaults began and continued over a year. According to the indictment, they occurred between April 1, 2018, and April 18, 2019, and included Mathieu allegedly engaging in oral sex with them, digitally penetrating them both vaginally and anally, and raping the 10-year-old.

If convicted, Mathieu could spend decades in prison.  Possessing child pornography is punishable from 7½ to 15 years in prison per count; AFSA involving a child under age 13 carries a 10- to 30-year sentence per count as does the AFSA pattern offense; manufacturing child pornography carries a sentence of 15 to 30 years.

When arrested on April 19, Mathieu was charged with two counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault.

Police opened an investigation on April 18 when the alleged assaults were brought to their attention.

The girls told investigators that Mathieu allegedly sexually assaulted them multiple times over the past year.
