Police say Watson woke the residents in the process before he could get away and was tackled by one of the victims inside their Merrimack Street apartment while rummaging through the owners’ belongings.

At about 11:25 p.m. the victim called police to say an intoxicated man, later identified as Watson, was found inside their apartment, and that another resident had tackled him and was holding him down.

Officers Rob Megowen and Brett Fernald arrived on scene and removed Watson from the apartment. Officers also located a syringe containing trace amounts of heroin on Watson, so he was charged accordingly.

The victims told police they had never met Watson before and did not grant him permission to be in their home.

Watson was arrested and transported to police headquarters. He was uncooperative during processing and taken directly to Hillsborough County House of Correction.

He will appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on April 27.
