MANCHESTER, NH – Police charged a man with resisting arrest after an attempt to take him into protective custody, due to his extreme intoxication, went bad.

On Friday March 7 at approximately 10:45 p.m., Officers Robert Gravelle and Kyle Daly spoke with Michael Seiders, 31, no fixed address. Seiders was walking along Elm Street, near Pearson’s Jewelry, and appeared to be highly intoxicated. Based on his condition, Officer Daly attempted to place him into protective custody.

Seiders allegedly told the officers he was not going to comply and began pulling away from Officer Daly and Officer Gravelle. They engaged in an altercation, which resulted in Seiders being taken down to the ground. Seiders continued to resist by tucking his hands under his stomach so the officers could not handcuff him.

Even after placing Seiders in handcuffs, he continued to yell at the officers and allegedly spat toward  them, but missed.

He was charged with resisting arrest and disorderly conduct, was set to appear in District Court on March 9.
