MANCHESTER, NH – Dennis Roberge, 57, was arrested in connection to a fight Wednesday at a Wheelock Street apartment. Roberge resides at the Wheelock Street residence.

At about 7 p.m. on May 22 Manchester officers were dispatched to the residence after reports of an intoxicated man there who would not leave the premises at the urging of tenants.

When police arrived they found the subject of the complaint on his stomach in a hallway and three people on top of him. Police got the people off and found the subject to be unconscious and blue. He eventually came-to and EMTs treated him at the scene before transporting him to the hospital.

According to interviews with witnesses, police determined that subject and Roberge began to argue, escalating into a physical fight where witnesses say Roberge punched and choked the man, and allegedly smashed his face into the floor several times.

Roberge ended up straddling the victim, according to reports, and two other people ultimately helped hold him down until police got there.

Roberge was arrested and charged with second-degree assault. He will be arraigned in Hillsborough Superior Court North on June 6, 2019.

Police say all involved parties were drinking alcohol.
