Woman charged with second-degree assault after stabbing acquaintance

MANCHESTER, NH – A city woman is charged with two counts of second-degree assault after stabbing an acquaintance Sunday.

At about 5:20 p.m. Officer Jack Wagoner was patrolling the area of Lincoln and Hanover streets when the victim of a stabbing requested help from him.  Officer Wagoner started medical assistance for the victim while gathering information about what happened.

Officer Wagoner learned the victim and suspect were known to each other.  The suspect was identified as Liberty Simms, 44.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Simms was arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree assault.  

No further information was made available by police.
