Man charged with possession of pot, cocaine and heroin

MANCHESTER, NH – Detectives from the Special Enforcement Division’s Street Crime Unit arrested Michael McManus, 36, of Manchester on March 10 on the city’s West Side, following an alleged drug transaction at an Orange Street address.

At about 5:40 p.m. detectives observed a 2015 Toyota RAV4 pull in front of an Orange Street address between Elm and Chestnut streets. The driver of the vehicle dropped off a man later identified by police as McManus, who entered the residence briefly before returning to the vehicle.

Detectives followed the Toyota and conducted a motor vehicle stop and identified the passenger as McManus, who had an outstanding warrant out of Rockingham County.

He was taken into custody and a search turned up a small amount of marijuana (1.9 grams) and a crack pipe containing trace amounts of cocaine. Detectives located a small cap and cotton swap, both containing heroin, inside the passenger door handle.

McManus was charged with possession of  a controlled drug (cocaine); possession of a controlled drug (heroin); possession of controlled drug (marijuana). He was scheduled to appear in District Court on March 11.
