MANCHESTER, NH – A city man faces multiple charges after running from police after he was spotted driving a van reported as stolen.

Officer Matthew O’Connor stopped Antonio Clough, 35, who was driving a 2008 Toyota minivan at approximately 12:55 a.m. Friday in the area of Spruce and Wilson streets. Officer O’Connor recognized the  minivan as matching the description of a vehicle reported stolen earlier in the day. Clough turned onto Central Street, parked the van and abruptly exited the vehicle, along with a passenger, and both men ran away from Officer O’Connor, who had attempted to stop the vehicle.

Officer O’Connor engaged in a brief foot pursuit with the two, but caught up to Clough in the rear of 397 Central St., placing him into custody. Clough was charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest/detention, driving after suspension/revocation and placed on a hold for probation/parole. His passenger was not located or identified.

The owner of the vehicle arrived on scene and took possession of the minivan, which was reported stolen Thursday afternoon. Clough is scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on October 26, 2018.
