Tyler Haynes, 22, of Manchester, was charged Aug. 16 with possession of cocaine, after an investigation by Manchester Police into a suspicious vehicle parked outside 3961 Brown Avenue.
At about 9 a.m. Patrol Officer Scott Ardita responded to that address for an “unwanted subject” in a Silver Pontiac Grand Am which was parked in the private lot of the apartment complex. Officer Ardita approached the vehicle and observed two people inside. Haynes was in the driver’s seat.
Officer Ardita noticed Haynes reaching down toward the bottom of his seat, and ordered Haynes to exit the vehicle while waiting for backup.
Once Haynes was outside the vehicle, Officer Ardita noted a “white powdery substance” on the floorboard of the driver’s seat. A subsequent test of the substance proved positive for cocaine. Haynes was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled drug. A passenger in the vehicle was not charged and was released by police at the scene.
