Man charged in April shooting arrested for stalking

MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Police Detective Patrick Houghton and Daniel Doherty worked collaboratively with the United States Marshals Service to locate and arrest Ira Cohen, 64, of Manchester, for violating a protection from stalking order. Cohen was originally arrested and charged with first degree assault in April of 2015.

On April 16, 2015, Cohen allegedly shot Mason Pereira of Manchester at the intersection of Hanover and Maple Street. The incident began over the alleged theft of Cohen’s motor vehicle. Cohen posted bail on April 17 and is currently awaiting trial for the first-degree assault charge related to that incident. His original bail was set at $50,000 cash/surety.

Detectives recently received information that Cohen violated a protective order related to the original case. They located and arrested Cohen at his Bodwell Street home at approximately 2:45 p.m. on June 11. and he was taken into custody without incident. He will appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on June 12 at 8:15 a.m.
