
MANCHESTER, NH – A city man was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident early Sunday morning involving an AMR ambulance on Maple Street.
At 4:58 a.m. on July 31 a Toyota Corolla traveling north on Maple Street struck an AMR ambulance that was traveling east on Spruce Street. The ambulance was not conducting a transport at the time of the crash.
Two men took off running from the Toyota leaving the scene without identifying themselves as required by law. Both paramedics on board the ambulance sustained minor non-life threatening injuries and were both transported to the Elliot for treatment.
The registered owner of the Corolla, Irene Maldonado, arrived at scene of the crash a short time after police officers arrived, and she identified the driver of the car at the time of the crash as her boyfriend, Manuel Albeno Castellanos, 24 .
Police found Castellanos at her address, 365 Grove St., and arrested him on conduct after an accident charge as well as operating without a valid license.
