Man charged with first-degree assault after allegedly striking another man with baseball bat

MANCHESTER, NH – On Sept. 23 at approximately 7:42 p.m. uniform patrol officers responded to the vicinity of Conant and Barr streets in reference to a report of an assault.

Upon arrival Officer Edwin Sepulveda made contact with the adult male victim who provided the following information: While engaged in a verbal argument with several male subjects, the victim says he was struck in the rear of the head with a blunt object, subsequently determined to be a baseball bat. The injuries sustained consisted of a laceration to the head, and were deemed non-life threatening.

While conducting an investigation at the scene, the suspect in this assault was identified as Hector Rodrigues. He was located and taken into custody without incident. Rodriguez is charged with: first-degree assault and contempt of court. Information pertaining to bail is not available at this time.
