MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Police detectives spent Saturday working on a late-night shooting on the city’s West Side reported Nov. 21 that resulted in the arrest of Gilberto Santiago.
Police were dispatched to 229 Putnam St. late Friday to investigate a complaint of a loud party/fight. Police were informed that during the fight someone, later identified as Santiago, fired a shotgun into the floor of an upstairs apartment, and the bullet narrowly missed hitting a young child in a first-floor apartment below.
Santiago was arrested on an unrelated charge stemming from the initial call, but allegedly admitted to police while in custody that he was responsible for the shooting.
Further details were unavailable from police at this time.
