A city man faces multiple charges including stalking, criminal trespass and possession of marijuana after he was spotted entering a Dutton Street apartment through the window.

Police say Tarik Holmes was stopped by police near 4 Dutton St. after a neighbor called to report seeing a man climbing through a window.

Arresting Officer Ryan Heile reported that Holmes was being uncooperative and evasive when asked about his identify. Holmes then fled on foot and led police on a brief foot chase before he was located and taken into custody a few block away on Maple Street.

Officers located a small quantity of marijuana (.5 grams) during a search of Holmes. Police said Holmes told them he was at the Dutton Street address because he was looking for his ex-girlfriend.

He was ultimately charged with stalking; criminal trespass, resisting arrest/detention and possession of a controlled drug.
