Man charged after allegedly throwing punch at Whisky’s bar

MANCHESTER, NH – Officer Schleiden Meneide was working a detail at Whiskey’s on July 9, 2017 when he observed an argument inside of the business. The incident occurred approximately 1:20 a.m. as the bar was closing for the night. He attempted to intervene as one of the subjects threw a punch and struck the other man in the face.

The officer gained control of the man who threw the punch and detained him as additional officers arrived on scene. The offender attempted to pull away from the Officer Meneide, so he transitioned him to the ground to complete the arrest. Officer Meneide identified the offender as; Darius Weekly, 23, of Manchester. Weekly struck a 24 year-old man from Loudon, who had several abrasions on his face and head.

The victim stated someone in the bar hit him over the head with a beer bottle prior to him being punched by Weekly. He was transported to Catholic Medical Center and treated for his injuries. Weekly was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest/detention. Weekly was released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on August 15, 2017.
