Man awakens outside Red Arrow diner to heroin arrest

MANCHESTER, N.H. – On Thursday, a man was awoken only to be arrested by Manchester Police for alleged possession of heroin.

The man, 37-year-old Francis Harrington of Manchester, was sleeping in a car along with another man in a car near the Red Arrow Diner on Lowell Street.

Harrington was sitting in the front passenger seat, the man in the driver’s seat was lethargic upon waking, but cooperative with police.

However, police described Harrington as agitated and reaching around the car before fully exiting. Upon investigation, police found a bulge in Harrington’s waistband which they determined to be heroin. Later, the bag was weighed to be in excess of 205 grams.

Harrington was charged with alleged possession of heroin with intent to distribute, he is scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court – North on Friday.

Anyone accused of a crime is innocent unless proven guilty by a court of law.
