Man asked to stop kicking pawn shop window punches employee, threatens him with knife

MANCHESTER, NH – Multiple officers responded to Manchester Pawn, located at 361 Elm St., around 10 a.m. on Sept. 26 for a report of a man with a knife threatening a worker inside of the store. Officers James Pittman and Kenneth Brunini located James Klimavich, 47, outside of the store when they arrived.

The victim, age 60, told the officers that Klimavich was standing outside of the store kicking windows when he asked him to stop. Klimavich allegedly punched the victim in the face when he opened the front door to speak with him. The victim retreated to the store and called police while Klimavich pulled out a knife and began threatening the worker while standing outside of the locked business.

Klimavich proceeded to break a window while shouting profanities at the victim and holding a knife. Officers located a small knife near the broken glass when they placed Klimavich into custody.

He was charged with criminal threatening, criminal mischief, simple assault and convicted felon in possession of a dangerous weapon. He is scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on September 27, 2018.
