MANCHESTER, NH – Officer Cody Healy conducted a motor vehicle stop at approximately 6:20 p.m. on May 8, 2017 at Karatzas Avenue and Old Wellington Road for failure to use a turn signal. He observed three people inside of the vehicle, including a male passenger who made furtive movements as the officer approached the 2013 Dodge Avenger.

Officer Healy spoke with the driver, Emile Desrochers, 55, of Manchester, as Officer Kyle Daly arrived on scene. The three people who were inside the car exited the vehicle after Desrochers gave consent for police to search his car.

Officer Daly located a single 80 mg oxycontin pill and a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance, believed to be heroin/fentanyl, stuffed between the passenger seat and center console. It was located in the same area passenger Chadd Gugliotta, 27, of Manchester, had been seated.

Desrochers said he was unaware his passenger had drugs in his vehicle, so Gugliotta was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled drug and possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute. The heroin/fentanyl was packaged as 11 individual baggies within the clear plastic bag and weighed 4.9 grams.

The third person, a 25-year-old from Manchester, and Desrochers were both released from the scene once Gugliotta was taken into custody.

Gugliotta is scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on May 9, 2017.
