Man arrested last week charged again, this time for criminal threatening

MANCHESTER, NH – A man arrested Friday on a weapons charge was arrested Wednesday by Manchester Police after reports that he was allegedly in possession of a gun on a woman’s porch in the early morning hours.

At about 4:20 a.m. police received a 911 call from a resident of the 300 block of Lake Avenue. The woman caller stated an stranger was on her porch, and that she had asked him to vacate.

The man, later identified as Kyle Bernier, 27 of Manchester, allegedly reached into his waistband, pulled out a black handgun and made threatening remarks about shooting “everyone.” The woman immediately went inside her residence and called police. Responding officers gathered a detailed description of the suspect, which helped detectives identify the person responsible.

Detectives Scott Ardita and Raymond Lamy interviewed the woman prior to securing an arrest warrant for Bernier, who was taken into custody without incident at around 7 p.m. Wednesday when officers noticed him enter a vehicle on Lake Avenue.

Bernier was placed into custody, but no firearm was located at the time of his arrest.

He was charged with criminal threatening and reckless conduct and is scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on January 16, 2019.

Bernier was arrested Jan. 12 as a felon in possession of a dangerous weapon. Bernier was scheduled to appear before a judge at Hillsborough County Superior Court North on Jan. 14. The outcome of that proceeding was not immedately available.
