MANCHESTER, NH – Multiple units arrived at 103 Putnam St. for an altercation involving a firearm around 8:20 p.m. on June 4, 2017. Officer Casey Finn spoke with a man who was eventually charged, Scott Stratton, 43, of Manchester. Stratton allegedly engaged in a fight with a downstairs neighbor when one of the tenants of the building, Richard Donati, 35, attempted to break-up the altercation.

Donati told police that Stratton pointed a black handgun at his face as he attempted to break up the fight between Stratton and another resident of the building. Donati told police Stratton held the gun close enough to almost touch his nose after he broke with the physical altercation between the two men.

Stratton allegedly pointed the 9 mm handgun at his Donati’s wife, Crystal Donati, 29, as she walked down the hallway stairs to check on her husband. Stratton also allegedly pointed the gun at the man he was originally fighting with, Miguel Ortiz, 33. All three victims reside in the same apartment building as Stratton. According to police, Stratton allegedly made several threats to the three individuals as he pointed the handgun at each of them before retreating into his apartment.

Officer Finn located Stratton and the 9mm Sig Sauer handgun inside of Stratton’s second-floor apartment. He was taken into custody and the gun was placed into evidence. Stratton was transported to the Elliot Hospital for an unknown ailment. Once inside, he became combative with the staff members and Officer Finn. He grabbed Officer Finn’s shirt and attempted to pull him close to his own body. He attempted to head-butt and bite the officer, but Officer Finn was able to gain control of him before Stratton could do so.

Stratton was charged with three counts criminal threatening (felony) and simple assault. He was scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on June 5, 2017.
