Man arrested following incident with woman in a car

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Early on Oct. 31, police arrested 21-year-old Ahmed Ali of Manchester.

According to police accounts, Ali went to a home on West River Drive and attempted to grab the driver’s side front door of a woman’s car. The woman was in the car with another woman and she tried to close the door, but Ali forced it open.

Ali then grabbed the woman’s hair pulled her, later scratching her on the face.

A man that knew the woman arrived at this point and got Ali off the women, pinning him to the ground until police could arrive.

Ali was charged with alleged simple assault, criminal mischief, and resisting arrest.

He was intoxicated at the time and put in protective custody until later being released on personal recognizance bail.

Ali will be arraigned in Manchester Circuit Court on Nov. 20.

Anyone arrested is innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
