Man armed with loaded gun arrested after attempting to pull gun on officer

MANCHESTER, NH – Darian Tyson, 28, of Manchester, was arrested March 3, charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun after police say he attempted to draw a weapon during an early morning police stop.

At 1 a.m. officers responded to a call for a suspicious person in the area of Conant and Barr streets. Tyson was located in that area walking in the roadway. An officer exited his cruiser to speak with Tyson to question him about his behavior. At that time, the officer alleges that Tyson reached into his waistband for a firearm, which was tucked into the waistband of his pants. As Tyson attempted to pull the firearm out, the officer tackled him to the ground. After a brief struggle officers were able to gain control of Tyson, who was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm with two 30-round magazine.

Tyson was arrested and charged with criminal threatening, resisting arrest/detention and being a convicted felon in possession of a dangerous weapon.

Officers later learned that there was also an active warrant out of Massachusetts for  Tyson on a probation violation. He was additionally charged as a fugitive from justice. Tyson was held at Valley St Jail on $1,500 cash/surety bail.
