MANCHESTER, NH – Employees at Evergreen Place Nursing Home, 813 Beech St., contacted police at 10:04 a.m. on Feb. 9 about a suspicious male in the building. The staff members observed an unknown white male, approximately 50 years of age, going in and out of rooms.

The employees attempted to contain the man in a bathroom, but when police arrived he had already escaped through the window. Officers Jacob Yaris and James Pittman tracked footprints which led to a nearby garage. They entered the garage at 301 Ash St. and located a man crouched down behind a vehicle.

The officers determined he was the same individual from the nursing home, based on the description provided, and attempted to place him into custody, but he was non-compliant while pulling away from the officers. They immediately transitioned him to the ground, but he continued to resist their lawful orders to comply with the arrest. The officers finally placed him into custody and identified him as David Hill, 51, of Manchester.

Hill allegedly entered several rooms and was able to remove $10 from a purse in one of the nursing home rooms. He was in possession of a $10 bill when arrested. Hill offered no legitimate reason to be on the premises of Evergreen Place so he was charged with burglary; resisting arrest/detention; and loitering/prowling. He was scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester on February 10, 2017.
