MANCHESTER, NH – The Manchester Monarchs’ goaltending problems continued on Saturday night, falling to the Maine Mariners for the second time in as many weeks by a score of 5-2.

Maine grabbed their first goal 2:28 into the contest when Michael McNicholas wristed a shot off the cross-bar.

The Mariners went on to score the next three straight goals, including a pair from Morgan Adams-Moisan near the end of the first period and then halfway through the third period.

Manchester got on the board about a minute after the second goal from Adams-Moisan, as Cory Ward received a pass from David Kolomatis in the slot, beating Mariners goaltender Connor LaCouvee.

Kolomatis added another goal 15:31 into the period, but Alex Kile would provide an empty netter for Maine during Manchester’s fourth power play of the night with just over three minutes left in the contest.

Manchester is now 1-for-29 on the power play at home this season and have yet to record a shutout, with Monarchs netminder Cole Kehler allowing 13 goals in the last three contests.

Now tied with Worcester for last place in the North Division, the Monarchs return to the ice on Dec. 5 as they begin a three-game set in Norfolk.
