MANCHESTER, N.H. – The New Hampshire Fisher Cats upped their winning streak to four games on Friday night, and unlike their last two wins, they didn’t require another shutout this time.
New Hampshire defeated the Portland Sea Dogs, 4-2 with all four runs coming the second.
There, Vinny Capra’s single to left brought Chad Spanberger home for the first run while Brock Lundquist’s fifth home run of the year brought Capra and Christian Williams home for the other runs.
Capra later added a double, ending the night 2-for-3.
Portland also got their runs early, scoring both in the first. They’d manage just two more hits the rest of the way as Justin Dillon stymied Portland’s bats over six innings of work.
Dillon climbed to 5-2 on the year, with Dany Jimenez grabbing his fifth save. Bryan Mata was the losers, falling to 2-6.
Both teams meet again on Saturday with New Hampshire’s Hector Perez (7-4, 4.70 ERA) taking on Portland’s Daniel McGrath (5-0, 1.35 ERA).
