Lock it or lose it: Man arrested with ‘abundance of items’ taken from cars after prowling spree

MANCHESTER, NH – A city man was arrested late Monday night, charged with possession of stolen property, prowling and possession of controlled drugs.

Officer Erik Slocum caught a man with multiple allegedly-stolen items at approximately 11 p.m. Oct. 22 in the area of Laxson Avenue and Jewett Street. The officer responded to the south end neighborhood after a Seames Drive resident contacted police to alert them of a suspicious man who attempted to break into his car.

Officer Slocum located the a man, later identified as Sean Morrissey, 23, of Manchester, walking on Laxson Avenue just as he was exiting a Laxson Avenue driveway. When the officer stopped Morrissey, he was holding an abundance of items, to include several pocketbooks, several eye glass cases and a knife when the officer stopped him.

Morrissey was taken into custody and charged with loitering/prowling. The officer confirmed several items were stolen once he located and spoke with two Laxson Avenue victims. The victim’s stated their Coach sunglasses and Husky utility knife were removed from their vehicles, so the items were returned to the owners.

Morrissey was also in possession of four women’s wallets, one smartphone case, two pair of sunglasses, two knives, 10 gift cards, over $70 in loose change, a small amount of cash and a pill container. He located two Adderall pills and two Trazadone pills inside the pill container, so Morrissey was charged with two counts possession of prescription drugs, two counts receiving stolen property and loitering/prowling.

Morrissey was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on November 11, 2018.
