Mint Bistro
Mint Bistro is temporarily closed due to water damage and local restaurateurs are helping out.

MANCHESTER, NH — On February 15, Mint Bistro suffered severe water damage due to a pipe that burst above the restaurant. The damage is so severe that the restaurant will be temporary closed for three to four weeks while repairs are made.

To help the employees weather this time with no income, Jeff Paige, chef and co-owner of Cotton organized local restaurants to help out.

Paige explained that there is an insurance claim, and once it is settled staff will receive some back wages, but claims for wages in the service industry are typically paid at a partial amount.

To help make up for lost income, on Friday, February 26 through Monday, February 29, Cotton will be donating proceeds from their nightly additions to their dinner menu. According to Paige, they have some fun things planned.

With the support of 11 locally-owned and operated restaurants, Cotton will also be hosting a raffle to benefit Mint Bistro. Tickets are $10 and will be available at Cotton through Sunday, March 6.

Two lucky winners of the raffle will receive one $50 gift certificate from each of the following restaurants; Republic, Campo Enoteca, The Hanover Street Chophouse, Fratello’s Italian Grille, KC’s Rib Shack, The Copper Door, Michael Buckley Restaurant Group, Canoe, The Foundry, Veranda Martini Bar and Grille and Cotton.

If you would like to offer support to Mint Bistro servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and hosts to help fill the gap of this temporary period of unemployment, visit GoFundMe at www.gofundme.com/qgqc2uak. Mint Bistro tentatively plans to re-open on March 7. Mint Bistro will post updates on their Facebook page.

To purchase a raffle ticket, Cotton is open Monday- Thursday from 11:30 a.m.- 9 p.m. On Friday 11:30 a.m.- 10 p.m. Saturday from 5 p.m.- 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 5 p.m.- 8 p.m.
