Binghamton Rumble Ponies

MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Binghamton Rumble Ponies earned a 4-2 win over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats on Saturday night.

Both teams took two runs early in the contest. Binghamton got theirs on a two-run first-pitch blast in the first by Andrew Gimenez. New Hampshire got theirs in the second from an RBI single by Andres Sotillo and a grounder to second by Brock Lundquist that allowed Riley Adams to reach the plate.

There things stood until the eighth when Austin Bossart hit a two-run double, enough to withstand a double from New Hampshire’s Logan Warmoth in the bottom of the eighth and two runners in the ninth.

Joey Polido recorded eight outs in relief, leaving in the eighth with a man on, one of the two that came home thanks to Bossart’s double. Despite giving up just one hit and striking out there, that sole earned run was enough to give Polido the loss in his first Double-A appearance.

The winner was Ryder Ryan, climbing to 3-1 after 2 2/3 innings of relief. Adonis Uceta earned his second save of the year against the Fisher Cats for his work in the ninth.

At the plate, Warmoth led the way for New Hampshire with a 3-for-4 night.
