MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and General Manager, Doug Christiansen, announced last week that the Monarchs have re-signed Sam Kurker to a Standard Player Contract for the 2018-19 season.

Kurker, 24, returns to the Monarchs after playing in 35 games last season, while recording 12 goals and 17 assists for 29 points. During the 2017-18 Kelly Cup Playoffs, Kurker led the Monarchs with a +5 rating and ranked second on the team with six points.

The 6-foot-2, 203-pound native of Boston, Mass., was drafted in the second round, 56th overall, by the St. Louis Blues in the 2012 NHL Draft. Kurker has played in 32 career AHL games between the Albany Devils, Cleveland Monsters and the Springfield Thunderbirds and has racked up seven points on three goals and four assists.
