MANCHESTER, NH – Time for the return of Trolley Nights, a celebration of art and culture in the city.
Although all of the participating venues are open year-round, on Trolley Night they have special happenings, demonstrations, hands-on activities, and promotions planned specifically for the evening. We are excited to add a chalk art competition and an outdoor arts market this year. Any interested chalk art competitors should reach out to Monica Leap at Studio 550 Art Center. This year, Trolley Night will take place on one eventful evening, July 11, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. On that night, there will be two trolleys circulating to arts and cultural institutions around the city for the duration of the event, beginning at Veteran’s Park at 4 p.m. There are various parking areas around the route.
Guests can hop on or off the Trolley at any venue, but as most venues are close to each other, guests are also welcome to drive, bike or walk between venues. A map and venue special event information can be found on the Trolley Night website.
The event is organized by volunteer arts & cultural organizations in the area.
The 2019 Season Venues are Queen City Bicycle Collective, Bookery Manchester, SEE Science Center, Manchester City Library, Manchester Community Farmer’s Market, Studio Verne Fine Art Fused Glass, Dancing Lion Chocolate, Girls at Work, Antiques on Elm, The Manchester Artists Association at Jupiter Hall, Roger Francoeur Studios, YMCA of Downtown Manchester, Studio 550 Art Center, and The Currier Museum of Art.

1) The Bookery Manchester is an independent bookstore in downtown Manchester, NH. In addition to books, they’ve got gifts, stationery, and toys. - Song And Dance around the Globe 0 Thursday, July 11th at 6 p.m. Families are invited to dance to, sing along with, and experience traditional music from cultures across the world with Sagit Ziberman. Sponsored by the Library Trustees. This event is also part of Trolley night festivities!
- Trolley & Legos -Thursday, July 11th from 4-7 p.m. Main Library Thursday, July 11th is Trolley Night in Manchester! Ride the trolley to the library for a Lego Evening. We will have 10,000 pieces for you to build within the children’s room. Afterward, your creations will be displayed in our glass cabinet for everyone to admire. Families are welcome.

6) The Manchester Community Farmer’s Market and Art Market offers an expansive array of locally grown items as well as NH made products, and agriculturally themed kids activities. The market aims to provide a fun, weekly farmers market that gives the community a place to connect with friends and farmers, access local foods, and enjoy this community event.
7) Dancing Lion Chocolate crafts products by hand from the finest artisan and small plantation chocolate and cacao from around the world. In 2016, the company was honored to be recognized as one of Dessert Professional Magazine’s Top 10 Chocolatiers in North America. Dancing Lion Chocolate is located at 917 Elm St., and this evening will be displaying a collection of edible jeweled art boxes and is offering samples of their own house-made ice cream.
8) Studioverne, Fine Art Fused Glass is the working studio/gallery of artist Verne Orlosk. View her interesting technique of using glass powder as her medium and the finesse it takes to apply the many layers of color to her hand drawn images. A variety of common objects repurposed, as tools, add a fun element. Her beautiful and evocative artwork is available for purchase. Music by Joey Peavey and a colorful Chalk Art Competition are additional activities on the surrounding sidewalk.
9) Guests at Studio 550 Art Center can try the pottery wheel, sculpt with clay at the texture table, shop our $1 pottery sale, dance with bubbles, learn about art birthday parties, workshops, and art classes for all ages, all while browsing our handmade gift shop. Learn more at 550arts.com.
10) The Manchester Artists Association is a non-profit organization of artists and crafters and was founded in 1950. MAA has about 100 members in and around the town of Manchester, Connecticut. They welcome artists and crafters of all mediums. The Manchester Artists Association will be having a Pop Up Show at Jupiter Hall.
Members of the MAA will be exhibiting original art in several media and also have matted prints and cards for sale. Refreshments will be served.
11) Queen City Bicycle Collective provides space, tools, and equipment, so that community members can repair their bicycles at minimal cost, with our help. They also accept donated bicycles, salvage useful parts & recycle them, or return them to working order & sell them at an affordable price. Learn more at qcbike.org.
12) Jupiter Hall is a community-oriented Multi-purpose venue located in Manchester, NH where communities experience arts, culture, and innovation. 13) Roger Francoeur Studios will be hosting an open house at the Roger Francoeur Studio. Francoeur is an oil painter and figurative sculptor.
