MANCHESTER, NH – Kelley Stelling Contemporary is honored to present “James Aponovich: Oout of the Studio – Recent Drawings and Paintings,” a solo exhibition of new work by world renowned artist James Aponovich. A lifelong resident of New Hampshire with an international following, Aponovich has chosen Kelley Stelling Contemporary for his first exhibition in almost 15 years in the state.
The show will feature his lush and bountiful still lifes and exuberant landscapes, along with a new series of allegorical portraits exploring darker themes of mortality. Exhibition dates are June 6, 2019 through June 28, 2019. A reception for the artist will be held on June 6 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Aponovich’s work is featured in the collection of the Currier Museum of Art, and the gallery will be donating 5 percent of all sales to the Museum to support art programs in and around Manchester.
In addition to the Currier Museum, Aponovich’s work is in the collections of the Museum of Fine Art, Boston, the DeCordova Museum, the New Britain Museum of American Art, the Portland Art Museum, the Evansville Museum of Arts & Science, the Frye Art Museum, the Chapel Art Center, Saint Anselm College, and the Boston Public Library.
Kelley Stelling Contemporary is a gallery dedicated to the presentation of works by living contemporary artists, and is based in downtown Manchester, at 221 Hanover Street.
