Intruder arrested after fleeing from one West Side basement to another

MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Police responded to a burglary in progress call on Feb. 20 at 4:10 p.m. on the city’s West Side. Officer Benjamin Foster, along with his K-9 Moose and several other officers responded to the 100 block of Bremer Street after the homeowner observed a strange man inside of his home.

The resident arrived home and noticed the door of his Bremer Street home wide open. He entered his first-floor apartment and heard sounds coming from the basement.  As soon as he contacted police man unknown to him exited the apartment house through the basement door and began running toward Reed Street.

Officer Foster and his K-9 Moose tracked the intruder and located him in the basement of 155 Youville Street. Officers initiated contact with the man and ordered him out of the home. He took several minutes before exiting the basement and was placed into custody without incident.

Police identified the intruder as Glen Peace, 49, of Manchester, who was charged with burglary, criminal trespassing and resisting arrest/detention.

He was scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on February 21, 2019.
