MANCHESTER, NH – Christopher Boll, 67, of Lincoln Street, Manchester, was arrested Nov. 22 and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol after striking a police cruiser on his way home.

Officer Casey Finn and Cody Healy were conducting a motor vehicle stop at 5:30 p.m. last night in front of 370 Hanover St. They were walking back to their cruiser when they observed a white Jeep approaching their cruiser.

The Jeep, operated by Boll, struck the driver’s side of the police car as they approached from the unrelated motor vehicle stop. Once the Jeep passed, the officers entered the cruiser and activated the emergency lights and sirens. Boll allegedly refused to stop and continued west on Hanover Street driving at a low rate of speed on Maple Street, Amherst Street and Lincoln Street, before pulling over in front of his Lincoln Street address.

The officers approached Boll to speak with him about the crash and his refusal to stop. Boll remained inside the Jeep after he stopped in front of his Lincoln Street residence. He initially refused to exit his vehicle, despite the officer’s commands. Boll eventually exited and was placed into custody. He was charged with conduct after an accident, disobeying a police officer and operating under the influence of alcohol.

Boll will be arraigned today (video arraignment) from the Hillsborough County House of Correction. The officers were not injured in the crash, which caused minor damage to the patrol car.
