MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Police arrested Christopher William Wathen, 29, on Dec. 30 after Wathen was reported on “walkaway status” from the New Hampshire Department of Corrections, where he was serving a 2.5 – 5 year sentence for robbery.

He was captured at 558 Montgomery St. in Manchester late in the afternoon on Dec. 30.

Manchester Police and NH State Police worked together in locating Wathen, speaking to him via cell phone before he eventually exited the residence and surrendered.

Wathen was placed in custody and then transported to Catholic Medical Center by ambulance due to some self-inflicted lacerations with a utility knife.

Police said Wathen had been on a work release program and failed to return to the facility.
